Decentraland - is the future world of cryptocurrency. It is a 3D virtual world that runs on an Ethereum-based blockchain to allow users to purchase land and build decentralized applications (dApps). Decentraland was established in 2015 by Estaban Ordano and Ari Meilich. It started as a pixelated grid where users were allocated a specified number of pixels using the PoW algorithm.
Today, developers can purchase LAND, sub-divisions of the virtual land represented by non-fungible ERC-721 token, using MANA (ERC-20 token). Owners of the LAND are allowed to create applications within their portion and generate revenue from their apps.
